Obituary

Abe Smith age 71, of Cannon, Kentucky went to be with the Lord
on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was a son of the late Ed Smith and Nora Smith of Woollum, Kentucky born to them on October 5, 1944 at Woollum. Abe was a member of the Horn Branch Baptist Church for over thirty five years. On November 26, 1962 he united in marriage to Gladys Smith and to this union two beloved daughters were born. He worked for the Masonite Fabricating Company in Evandale, Ohio for over eighteen years before becoming ill. Abe loved to play music and could play just about anything you handed him. He really enjoyed playing for the choir at church and teaching the young boys at church. He played the steel guitar for the Horn Branch Echoes for many years. Many singing groups would get Abe to play for them. Abe liked getting together with family and friends and playing his steel guitar. He enjoyed bowling, picking ginseng and hunting.

his daughters; Sharon Mills and husband, Pat of Girdler; Cammie Heath and husband, Daniel of Girdler; his four grandchildren; Kayla Hobbs and husband, Kevin of Girdler, Dustin Mills and Fiance', Kristin Taylor of Girdler, Christian Wyatt and Noah Heath both of Girdler.

of Stinking Creek; Charles Smith and wife, Wilma of Woollum; sister-in-law, Janet Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; Abe was preceded in death by; two sisters; Anna Mae Smith and Geneva Hale; brother; R.J. Smith brothers-in-law; Vernon Hale and Denver Smith; and sisters-in-law;
Elsie Smith and Norma Smith.

Funeral Services for Abe Smith will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Rick Broughton, Rev. Matthew McKinney and Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Bingham Cemetery at Cannon, with Eddie Saylor, Mike Bright, Hersel Smith, Jerry Jones, Tommy Mills and Billy Mills serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Abe's Church Family, Lashondia Ferguson and staff at the Daniel Boone Family Health Care and Dr. Krishna; Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Saturday after 6:00 pm and Sunday
after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home
is in charge of all arrangements.
