Obituary

Barbara Ann Gilbert, age 74, of the Black Water Community, died Friday, March 10, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late John and Victoria Mitikah Przybysz, born to them on November 19, 1942 in East Gary, Indiana.

Barbara was a well known Knox County Homemaker, and worked on the Farm; and was a Member of the Blackwater United Baptist Church.

On December 21, 1960, she united in marriage to Harold E. Gilbert, and to this union three sons: Harold, Nathan and James were born.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother: John and Victoria Mitikah Przybysz; her step-father: Henry J. Brooks; her husband: Harold E. Gilbert on March 30, 2004; her two brothers: Donald Przybysz and John Przybysz; and by a sister: Betty A. Dagostino.

She is survived by her loving family: Her three sons: Harold E. Gilbert, Jr. and wife, Suzanne of Nicholasville, Kentucky; Nathan G. Gilbert of Winter Park, Florida; and James W. Gilbert and wife, Joy L. of the Blackwater Community.
Her five grandchildren: Tara M. Robinson; James W. Gilbert, Jr. and wife, Kayla N.; Jacob N. Gilbert; Joseph A. Gilbert; and John M. Gilbert.
Her four great grandchildren: Ryann L. Robinson, James W. Gilbert, III.; Isabelle M. Gilbert, and Peyton E. Gilbert.
Her brother-in-law: Carson I. Gilbert and wife, Ileta of Tedders Creek Road; and her two sisters-in-law: Jeanetta Trail of Indiana; and Mary Linda Balta; and several nieces and nephews, and other relatives, and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Barbara Ann Gilbert will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilbert Cemetery on Tedders Creek Road.

The serving as Pallbearers will be: James Gilbert, Jr., Jacob Gilbert, Joseph Gilbert, Andrew Lawson, Adam Snyder, and Irvine Scalf.

The Gilbert family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, and after 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday and until the hour of service.
