Obituary

Betty Jean Grubb age 56, of Girdler, was born on October 29, 1958 in
Barbourville, Kentucky. She was a daughter of Dexter and Gracie Mills
Smith. Betty departed this life on Saturday, February 14, 2015. She
was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church at Girdler. Betty worked for the United States Postal Service for thirty years and was
presently the Postmaster at Girdler. On February 14, 1980, she united in marriage to Ray Dean Grubb and to this union a son, Aaron Dean, was born. Along with her parents, Dexter and Gracie Smith, she was
preceded in death by; a sister, Kathleen; her paternal grandparents,
Bill and Lola Smith of Woollum; maternal grandparents, Chris and Fannie Mills of Woollum; mother-in-law; Tennie Jackson Grubb of Manchester and sister-in-law; Imogene May of Girdler.

Betty Jean is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ray Dean Grubb of
Girdler; her son; Aaron Dean Grubb of Girdler and Fiance', Megan Morgan of Manchester; her precious granddaughter, Brynlee Faith Grubb;
her sister, Birtha Rose and husband, Darrell of Girdler; her brother,
Rev. Dexter Smith and wife, Angela of Girdler; sister-in-law, Joanne
Smith and husband, Tom of Corbin; brother-in-law; Willie May of Girdler; special nieces and nephews; Whitney Nicole Jones, Katelin Jordan Smith, Bethany Leanne Smith, Matthew Dalton Rose and Stacy
May; a great niece Baylee Grace Jones and several other nephews.
Betty also leaves a special aunt by marriage, Beatrice Bales in
Jacksonville, Florida;

Funeral Services for Betty Jean Grubb will be conducted at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm with
Rev. David Barnard and Rev. Ricky Broughton officiating. Burial will follow in the Nan Riley Cemetery at Woollum, with Rodney Riley, Edward
Riley, E.J. Smith, Stacey May, Willie May and Michael Laxton serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: the Men's Sunday School Class at the Locust Grove Baptist Church at Girdler. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Tuesday, after 6:00 pm and Wednesday, after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper
Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
