Betty Louise Mills Williamson age 86, of Corbin and formerly of Scalf on Stinking Creek in Knox County, was born on June 7, 1927 at Scalf. She was a daughter of the late Tom J. Mills and Carrie Ayres Mills. Betty died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Baptist Health in Corbin. She was a member of the Dewitt Baptist Church. She was a Knox County Elementary School Teacher for forty years before retiring. On March 30, 1946, she united in marriage to Kermit Williamson and to this union two dear children were born. Along with her parents and husband, Kermit, she was preceded in death by her son Kermit Jerry Williamson, infant grandsons, Shannon and Jamie; sister, Ina Jean Brown; brothers; Billy Don Mills, Tom J. Mills Jr; a niece, Patty Mills Brown; several beloved sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law and her longtime beloved dog companion, CoCo all preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her dear daughter, Joanne Sizemore and husband, Darrell Dee Sizemore, of Corbin; her grandchildren; Robyn Bradshaw and husband, Joe; Alexander Ayers Sizemore, and Amy Dee Sizemore and her great grandchildren; Emily Madyn Bradshaw and Joey Annabeth Bradshaw; sisters-in-law; Katharyn Lewis Mills of Scalf and Maxine Lester Mills of Flat Lick and other dear and beloved extended family members.
Funeral Services for Betty Louise Mills Williamson will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Grandson-in-law, Joe Bradshaw and Rev. Charles Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Long Tom Mills Cemetery at Scalf, with Doug Bingham, Mike Mills, Rex Carnes, Larry Wayne Davis, Earl Hammons Jr., Randy Mills, Clint Mays and John Christopher Kinningham serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: all nephews of Mrs. Williamson. The Williamson Family would like to extend a special thank you to Betty's caregivers, Sandy, Bobbie and Peggy. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Friday after 5:00 pm and Saturday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements
