Obituary

Beulah Marie Jones Gambrel, age 90, of Callebs Creek, died at her home, on Monday, August 21, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Lewis and Nora Hubbard Jones, born to them on February 11, 1927 at Girdler.

Mrs. Gambrel was a Member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church for over 64 years, having served as Church Clerk and a Sunday School Teacher; she also was a well known Knox County Homemaker; and she was a Kentucky Colonel.

On March 4, 1944, she united in marriage to Arthur Gambrel, and to this union 9 children were born.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur Gambrel; her son: Rick Gambrel; her great grandson: Spencer Gambrel; her two brothers: Clifton Jones and Denver Jones; and by her four sisters: Doris Liford, Marget Stewart, Velva Price, and Mary Jones.

She is survived by her loving family: Her children: Jack Gambrel and wife, June of Rising Sun, Indiana; Eddie Gambrel of Rising Sun, Indiana; Johnny Gambrel and wife, Teresa of Corbin; Eunice Detwiler and husband, Joe of Maineville, Ohio; Phyllis Gambrel of Maineville, Ohio; Linda Kay Martin and husband, Donald of Girdler; Wilma Patterson and husband, Michael of Barbourville; Lisa Creasy and husband, Sam of Girdler; and her daughter-in-law: Chris Gambrel Hammons of Callebs Creek.

Her 15 grandchildren; 14 great granchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

Her sister: Edith Morris and husband, Winford of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives, and dear friends; her Caregiver: Sharon Kush; A Special Thank You To: The Professional Home Health, Knox County Home Health, Dr. Vora and Staff, and the Barbourville ARH Hospital.

Funeral Services for Beulah Marie Jones Gambrel will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, August 24, 2017 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Gray, Rev. Rick Broughton and Rev. Brian Miracle officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dozier Cemetery at Bimble.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be the Grandsons of Mrs. Gambrel: David Townsley, Jeff Gambrel, Eddie Gambrel, Vincent Patterson, Jack Gambrel, Jonathan Gambrel. Samuel Creasy, and C. J. Gambrel.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the Great Grandsons and Great Great Grandsons of Mrs. Gambrel.

The Gambrel family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, and after 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, and until the funeral hour.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
