Bill Hammons age 77, of Kingsport, Tennessee and formerly of Barbourville was born on July 17, 1940 in Knox County, Kentucky. He was a son of the late George Hammons and Alice Smith Hammons. Bill died Thursday, July 27, 2017 in the Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was a member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky and was attending the Falls Creek Baptist Church at Kingsport, Tennessee. He was a retired General Motors employee. Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by, a son, Bobby Gerald Hammons; two sisters, Beatrice Broughton and Gracie Hammons and a brother; Shelby
Hammons.

Bill is survived by his sons; Bill Hammons Jr. and wife, Michelle of Chicago, Illinois and Aaron Hammons and wife, Gina of Kingsport, Tennessee; his dear grandchildren; Nicholas Robert Hammons of Canton, Michigan; Emma Rose Grace Hammons, Annalise Jane Hammons and Andrew Michael Hammons all of Kingsport, Tennessee; his sisters; Cora Harp and husband, Charles of Barbourville and Joyce Chesnut and husband, Rev. Dennis Chesnut of Bimble; his brothers; Herbert Hammons
and wife,Wanda of Barbourville and Freddie Hammons of Taylor, Michigan. Bill also leaves several beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Bill Hammons will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Dr. Victor Haynes officiating. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Sunday after 6:00 pm and Monday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 11:00 am. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
