Brenda Sue Lockard Smith, age 69, formerly of Barbourville, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Harrison and Pearl Fultz Lockard, born to them on April 12, 1945 in Barbourville.
Brenda Sue retired from a local Manufacturing Factory.
On July 31, 1964, she united in marriage to Anderson Smith, and to this union three children: Kathy, Martha and Charles were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harrison and Pearl Fultz Lockard; her six brothers: Duke Lockard, Wade Lockard, Lymon Lockard, Jason Lockard, Pete Lockard and Pud Lockard; her two sisters: Joyce Payne and Linda Lykins; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Nan Smith.

She is survived by her loving family: her loving husband of over 50 years: Anderson Smith.
Her three children: Kathy Jones and husband, John; Martha Bratten and husband, Ray; and Charles Smith.
Her five grandchildren: Nathan Bratten, Jacob Bratten and wife, Samanatha, Briar Bratten, Logan Smith, and Gavin Smith.
Her great granddaughter: Whittney Bratten.
Her brother: Bruce Lockard. Her two sisters: Jerry Perry, and Jane Messer and husband, Oleth. Several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Brenda Sue Lockard Smith will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2015 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Warren and Rev. Keaton Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Candle Ridge Cemetery at Gray.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Nathan Bratten, Jacob Bratten, Briar Bratten, Logan Smith, Jeff Lockard and David Christo; and serving as a Honorary Pallbearer will be Gavin Smith.
The Smith family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, and on Friday after 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
