Carl Edward Queener, 76, passed away at his home in Miami, FL on Tues. Sept. 4, 2018 after being diagnosed with lung cancer in Jan. He was born on Aug. 13, 1942 in Bell County, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clayton Queener, Martha Laws Queener and his brother, James Earl Queener, and his beloved dog, Molly Brown.
He is survived by his children, Carl Queener, Jr. (Tara), Nancy Fuller (Luther), and Debbie Puckett (Jason), 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Betty Powell, Carolyn Queener, Hazel Queener, and Charlotte Houghtaling (Lewis), 7 nieces, 1 nephew, and his loving friends from Miami.
Mr. Queener was a 1961 graduate of Oneida Baptist Institute in Clay County, KY where he played varsity basketball. He was a lifetime member of the Florida Elks for local business owners. Throughout his life he was an office equipment salesman and repairman, a heating and air technician, a realtor, and a notary public. He also had his Captain's License. He was passionate about UK sports, especially basketball, the Miami Dolphins and Heat, his family, the education of others, and caring for abandoned and stray animals for the Cat Network. His final wish was to be brought back to his "Old Kentucky Home" from Miami to be laid to rest next to his brother.
