Carrie Messer Boyd, age 75, formerly of Knox County, Kentucky, and Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her home in Maynardville, Tennessee.

She was a daughter of the late Rev. Jeff N. Messer and Ellen Gray Messer, born to them on October 24, 1937 at Gray, Kentucky.

Carrie has been a Christian for over 45 years, and spent most of her life in Springfield, Ohio, she came from a large family of 13 brothers and sisters, and enjoyed many wonderful family reunions with her brothers and sisters, and her loving nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Earl Lee Boyd; her brothers: William, Lee, Jeff, Howard, Tommy and Lloyd Messer; and by her sisters: Lucy Turner, Edith Hollis, Naomi Pickard, and Julia Taylor.

She is survived by a loving and devoted son: Jonathan L. Boyd of Maynardville, TN. Her sisters: Kathleen B. Messer and Beverly James. Her brothers: Johnnie Messer and David Messer. Her daughter-in-law: Carol A. Boyd, and her granddaughter Tina Bell, and her grandson Robert M. Curtin of Dayton, Ohio; and many loving nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Carrie Messer Boyd will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Cupp officiating.
Burial will follow in the Doolin Cemetery at Heidrick.

The Boyd family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home
on Saturday after 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
