Chalice Mills better known as "Big Man",  age 65, of Mills Creek at Flat Lick, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home.  He was a son of the late Earl and Juanita (Stewart) Mills, born to them on September 23, 1952 in Clay County.

Chalice enjoyed his dogs, and going hunting with family and his many friends.  He had worked for Plastics Universal and Patterson Lumber Company, and was a well known Knox County Logger, and also worked with Mining Timbers, and he was a Member of the Coles Branch Baptist Church.

On January 18, 1974, he united in marriage to Georgia (Jordan) Mills, and to this union two sons: Chalice Kevin and Michael Paul, and one daughter: Amy Renee were born.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby sister: Patricia Mills; his nephew: Tony Smith; his mother-in-law: Cleda Jordan and his father-in-law: George Jordan, and by a brother-in-law: Randall Mills.

Chalice is survived by his loving wife of over 44 years: Georgia (Jordan) Mills.  His two sons: Chalice Kevin Mills and wife, Anna and Michael Paul Mills and wife, Karen.  His daughter: Amy Renee Asher and husband, Travis.  His grandchildren: Alexis Asher, Madison Asher, Chase Asher, Shantoria Brown, Andrew Brown, Daniel Smith, Melinda Smith, Danielle Smith, Charles Baker and Jonathan Baker.  His great grandchildren: Bryson Ray Mills, Landon McCreary, Tristan Gambrel, Wistan Smith, Pasiley Smith, Christian Smith, Taylor Smith and Bradley Smith.  His four brothers: Ernest Mills and wife, Trivia, Paul Mills and wife, Kay, Rev. Herman Mills and wife, Joyce, and Larry Mills and wife, Ragena.  His five sisters: Mae Bright and husband, Ed, June Smith and husband, Earl, Viola Cole and husband, Duane, Phyliss McCreary and husband, Ronnie, and Dena Campbell and husband, Benny. His sisters-in-law: Charity Mills, Mary Broughton and husband, Ernie, and Susan Cooper and husband, Robert.  His brother-in-law: Leemon Jordan; and a host of nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Chalice Mills better known as "Big Man" will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. Charles Carnes officiating.  Burial will follow in the Obie Mills Cemetery at Mills Creek.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Daniel McCreary, Derek Swards, Coty Mills, Josh Mills, Jonathan Baker, Steven Smith, Jody Smith, Nick Cole and Ethan Mills.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be all Friends and Neighbors.

The Mills family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home on Friday after 6:00 P.M., and on Saturday after 9:00 A.M., and on Sunday after 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
