Obituary

Chelsie Hibbard Walsh, age 76, of Barbourville, died Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Baptist Health in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late
Gilbert and Julia Ann Hammons Hibbard, born to them on June 2, 1940 in Heidrick, Kentucky.

Chelsie was Manager of Coles Trailor Park; a Member of the Scalf Chapel Church, having joined the church in March of over sixteen and half years ago, also Chelsie and her daughter Julie were Baptized together on Mother's Day in the year of 2000 at Scalf Chapel; she was also a Kentucky Colonel; and was a very special Volunteer Care Giver, and loved helping others and caring for others.

On April 23, 1965, she united in marriage to John William Walsh, and to this union a daughter Julie was born.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband John William Walsh on March 25, 2000; and by her seven brothers: Bill Hibbard, Eugene "Tobe" Hibbard, Bob Hibbard, Luke Hibbard, Gill Hibbard, Jack Hibbard and John Hibbard.

Chelsie is survived by her loving daughter: Julie Walsh-Hembree and husband, Keith of Barbourville.
Her two step-grandchildren: Matthew Hembree and wife, Ashley and their children; and Ashley Hembree.
Her sister: Sallie Brown and husband, W. H. of Boone Height.
One very special niece: Ashley Clark and Paul Wyatt.
Her nieces and nephews: Pam Broughton and husband, Herman, Erin Buchmeier and Michael Stebel, Haley Rose, Chris Kinard and wife, Dana, Casey Kinard Castorina and husband, Keith, Jamie Kinard Tye and husband, Jason, and Kelly Kinard Vargas and husband, Joe.
One very dear friend: Wilma Barnes and her grandchildren; and a very cherished Prayer Sister: Hazel Smith; and many other relatives, and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Chelsie Hibbard Walsh will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith "Buster" Liford, Rev. David Barnard, and Rev. Charles Lee officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Billy Barrett, Kenny Lockard, David Cole, Jamie Jackson, Matthew Hembree and Paul Wyatt.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Keith Wilburn, Johnny Mills, Richard Shackleford, Tony Parsons, The Staff of Baptist Health and the Oncology Department, the Staff and Friends of Knox County Adult Education, and the Scalf Chapel Church Family.

The Walsh family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Hopper Funeral Home, and on Wednesday after 12:00 noon until the hour of service.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
