Clifford "Doc" Broughton age 82, of Scalf, died at his home Wednesday, January 30, 2019.  He was born on May 10, 1936, to the late Henry and Nicy Bright Broughton at Hammond, KY. He was a Landscaper and of the Baptist faith. Doc will be remembered for his tremendous work ethic and his willingness to help others.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a special friend Juanita Hobbs, his sister: Irene Mills, his brothers: Homer Broughton, Lee Broughton, Leeman Broughton and Lindsey Broughton, his brothers-in-law Carl Mills and James Mills, and  his sisters-in-law: Beatrice Broughton and Pauline Broughton.

He is survived by his loving daughter Tonya Jean Brown and husband Joseph of Scalf, his brother: Henry Broughton, Jr. and wife Wilma of Gray, his sisters: Forestine Mills of Flat Lick, Lorene Barnes and husband Larry, of West Chester, Ohio, Kathleen Bright and husband C.H. of West Chester, Ohio, Nadine Smith and husband Woodrow of Trenton, Indiana, his grandchildren: Victor and Jasmine Brown of Scalf. Plus several dear nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Clifford "Doc" Broughton will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019, in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.Y. Mills and Rev. Gilbert Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning Cemetery at Scalf, KY with Lucas Broughton, Donnie Broughton, Jake Baker, Dylan Baker, William Collins and Ernie Broughton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hopper Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM Saturday until the hour of service.
