Cora Mae Asher age 62 of Flat Lick was born on August 20, 1955 in Pineville, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late John D. Mills and Juanita Hobbs Mills. Cora died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home. She was a member of the Coalport Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired Licensed Pratical Nurse. On August 24, 1973, Cora united in marriage to Ralph Asher. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; sisters; Norma Ledington and Sharon Chance and brothers, Donald D. Mills, John Stanley Mills and Dennis George Mills.

Cora is survived by her dear daughter, Bonnie West and husband, Rickey of Flat Lick; her loving grandsons; Trevor Owen West and Tyler Corey West of Flat Lick; her sisters; Meriam Knuckles of Flat Lick and Peggy Langley of Barbourville; her brother; Tip Darrell Mills of Flat Lick and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services for Cora Mae Asher will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. James Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Asher Cemetery at Flat Lick, with Harrison Mills Jr., Jeffrey "Red" Hammons, Scott Merida, William Babbs, Dewayne Brock, Alton Ray West III and Buddy Tigue serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Knox County Ambulance Service, Sherry Blevins and Jeannie "Susie" Merida.
Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Thursday 6:00 till 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am Friday until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
