Corb Hembree's Obituary
Corb Hembree, age 79, of Corbin, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in Baptist Health in Corbin.
He was a son of the late Pascal and Viola Burch Hembree, born to them on July 23, 1934 at Trosper.
Corb was a retired Principal of over 41 years with the Knox County School System; a Member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church; and served his Country in the United States Army.
On December 3, 1966, he united in marriage to Drucilla Golden, and to this union a daughter: Brooke Elizabeth was born.
Along with his father and mother, he was preceded in death by a brother: Kermit Hembree.
Corb is survived by his loving family: his wife of over 46 years: Drucilla Golden Hembree of Corbin.
His daughter: Brooke Elizabeth Hembree of Corbin.
His brother: Albert Hembree and wife, Lillian of Trosper.
His nephew: Keith Hembree and wife, Julie.
His great nephew: Matthew Hembree.
His great niece: Ashley Hembree; and many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Corb Hembree will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herschel Walker and Rev. Todd Golden officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Keith Hembree, Matthew Hembree, John Golden, Chad Golden, Shane Golden, Brent Fuson and Nicholas Evans.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers wil be: The Christian Health Care Center Staff, the Baptist Health C.C.U. Staff, Silas Goodin, Todd Golden, Joe Lee Hembree, John Bill Martin, Jim Bo Martin, Bill Logan Hampton, and all family, friends and neighbors of the Hembree family.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
The Hembree family will receive friends on Friday after 6:00 P.M. at the Hopper Funeral Home, and after 9:00 A.M. on Saturday until the funeral hour.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to: Duke Cancer Institute, Office of Development, DUMC 3828, Durham, NC 27710; or the American Cancer Society, 402 Coomer Street, Somerset, Kentucky 42503; or Refuge Ridge, P.O. Box 308, Emlyn, Kentucky 40730 in loving Memory of Corb Hembree.
