Cordia Williamson age 80, of Flat Lick, Kentucky, ws born on May 17, 1937 in Knox County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Willis Warren and Mary Eva King Warren. Cordia died Friday, January 12, 2018 in the Saint Joseph Hospital East in Lexington, Kentucky. She was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at the Concord Baptist Church at Flat Lick. Cordia was a Licensed Practical Nurse and later became a Registered Nurse where she worked as the ICU Nurse Supervisor at the Pineville Community Hospital before retiring. On September 22, 1954, she united in marriage to J.R. Williamson and to this union a beloved son and daughter were born. Along with her parents and her husband. J.R., she was preceded in death by her sister, Dean Woolum; brothers, Arson Warren, Hardy Warren, Carty Warren, Harold Warren, Carl Warren and Sharl Warren.
Cordia is survived by her son; Roger Williamson of Flat Lick; her daughter, Susan Helton and husband, Hobert of Dewitt; her grandchildren; Melissa Nicole Bargo, Jessica Van and husband,Brandon, Angie Powers and husband, Jason and Holly Helton; her great grandchildren, Jacob Warren, Aaliyah Van, Braydon Van, Delani Helton and Jordan Powers; her sisters; Ina Gail Carnes of Pineville, Kentucky; and Mary Kay Frazier and husband, Ricky of Pineville; and her brother, Sam Warren of Turkey Creek.
Funeral Services for Cordia Williamson will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Brandon Dunn and Rev. Donnie Mills officiating. Burial will follow at the Williamson Cemetery at Dewitt with, Johnny Gray, Ron Helton, M.C. Helton, Kenneth Roberts, Ronnie Gray, Garrett Gray, Ed Brown, Zack Brown and Jeffrey Coleman. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cordia's dear and loving son, Roger. The Williamson family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home, Monday 6:00 to 9:00pm and Tuesday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
