Obituary

David Lundy age 79, of Heidrick, Kentucky. David was born on September 19, 1935 in Barbourville, Kentucky to Walter and Hazel Lundy. He was a singer and sang since he was a little boy. His mother said he would sit on the front porch with a microphone and entertain his neighbors. When he was 21, he fell in love with Viola Johnson from Swan Pond and they were married on August 1, 1958. Four children were born to their marriage, David, Deidra, Durenda and Duran. He kept on singing. He started singing with his sister, Vivian, while his sister, Janice played the piano and sang. Later when his daughter, Deidra, learned to play the piano he sang as she played. He always wanted to sing with his family and the family began singing together as The Lundy Family. They sang for the Lord for over twenty years. He had a great love for people and an even greater love for God. He couldn't wait to sing God's praises. He's now singing in Heaven with Duran the Heaven that he always sang about. On his last day, he knew he would see Jesus soon and it was easy to see the joy on his face. He fell asleep at his earthly home and woke up in his heavenly home to be with Jesus on August 12, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Duran Lundy, and his brothers, Bob, Marion and baby Kenneth Lundy.
