Obituary

Dewey Frank Carnes age 78, of Heidrick, was born on July 14, 1937 in
Knox County, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Walter Carnes and
Sudie Gray Carnes. Mr. Carnes died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the
University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was a member of the Friendship Holiness Church. Mr. Carnes was
a retired employee of the Barbourville Utilities. On September 28,
1960, he united in marriage to Coleen Hudson and to this union four
children were born. Along with his parents, and his wife, Coleen,
he was preceded in death by; an infant son, Timothy; great granddaughter, Emmaleigha Elliott; sisters; Louise Jackson, Birdie
Mae Fultz, Mary Lee Marlow and brother; Edward Carnes.

Mr. Carnes is survived by his beloved children; Debbie Sizemore and
husband, Henry of Corbin; Wayne Carnes and wife, Angie of Heidrick;
Rick Carnes and wife, Darlene of Barbourville; his dear grandchildren; Amy, Angie, Ashley, Dexter, Lauren, Candice, Tonya,
Travis and Josh; great grandchildren; 13; sister, Jean Kanalis of
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and sisters-in-law; Bevery Hudson of Heidrick; Margaret Hamilton and husband, Bill of Artemus; Nannie Mae
Ballard and husband, Ray of Pensacola, Florida. Mr. Carnes also leaves
many dear nieces, nephews and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Dewey Frank Carnes will be conducted in the
Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. David Rice and Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. Burial will
follow in the Patterson Cemetery at Heidrick, with, Jeff Blansit, Earl Marlow, Danny Edwards Jr., Charles Fultz, Frank Elliott and Lee Smallwood serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Claude Scalf, Charles Fultz, Mr. Carnes church family at the Friendship Holiness Church, and all friends and neighbors. The Carnes Family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staffs at the Knox County Hospital, Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington; Rockcastle Respiratory Care, Baptist Health and Rehabilitation and the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Friday after 6:00 pm and Saturday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
