Don L. Williamson, age 88, of Barbourville, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at Barbourville Health and Rehab. He was the son of the late Luther Williamson and Haley Gambrel Williamson born to them on July 9, 1930, in Portsmouth, Ohio. On August 3, 1955 He was united in marriage to his loving wife Barbara Mae Spivey Williamson who preceded him in death. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Dewitt Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict. He loved to read about history especially WW II.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his loving stepfather: Ham Smith.

Survivors include his loving daughter: Jean Williamson Smith and husband Gary of  Barbourville, his grandchildren: Scott Smith and wife Kim and Rodney Smith and wife Melinda, his great-grandchildren: Drew Smith, Jerod Smith, Paige Smith, and Carly Smith. Plus many dear cousins, friends, and family to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Don L. Williamson will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2019, in the Hopper Funeral home chapel with Dr. Jay Barnett and Dean Bingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery with David Spivey, Scott Smith, Rodney Smith, Jerod Smith, Drew Smith, Joe Watkins and Fred Hensley serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are his dear cousins, Staff of Barbourville Health and Rehab and Wilbur Bingham. The Williamson family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, and on Friday after 10:00 A.M. and until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M.
