Obituary

Donald Earl Baker age 64, of Barbourville passed away Saturday November 24, 2018 at his residence. He was the son of the late Arnold Baker and Frances Waneta Baker born to them on November 1, 1954 in Knox County Kentucky. He was a Entrepreneur and a member of Roadside Baptist Church. In his spare time he loved Car Races, investing in the Stock Market, Knox Central Basketball and U.K. Basketball, and loved to play Cards, and Fish with his buddy Ralph.

On August 8, 1973 he was united in marriage to Judy Smith Baker who survives, and to this union two children Arnold Baker II and Donna Baker Gross were born.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers: Lonnie Baker and William "Bill" Brice Baker, his paternal grandparents: William "Billy" Baker and Julie Mills Baker, his maternal grandparents:  Earl Messer and Emily Stewart Messer.

He is survived by his son: Arnold Baker II of Barbourville, his daughter: Donna Baker Gross and husband David of Barbourville, his sister: Mona Jean Owens of Jarvis, his grandchildren: Noah  Don Gross, Landon Baker Gross, Joe Gross, Kate Gross and Andrew Gross, his nieces: Penny Denise LaMonica, Leanna Owens, Dianna Owens and Darla Abner.

Funeral services for Donald Earl Baker will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday November, 29 2018 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Boyd Bingham III and Rev. Josh Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery with Keith Abner, Ralph Smith, Brad Smith, Andrew Gross, Joe Gross, B.J. Baker, Perry Word and Rodney Smith serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday after 6:00 P.M. at Hopper Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday until the funeral hour.
