Obituary

Donnie Ray Storms, age 71, of Corbin, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his home. He was a son of Ruby Lee Frazier Storms and the late Jesse Vernon Storms, born to them on January 13, 1947 in Knox County.

Donnie Ray was a Diesel Mechanic for General Shale Brick Company in Corbin, a member of the NRA, a member of the Knox County Fish and Wildlife Organization, a Hunter, and he enjoyed Fishing, and was of the Holiness faith.

On April 17, 1965, he united in marriage to Lulla Belle Thomas, and to this union two sons: Michael Wayne and Mark David, and one daughter: Melissa were born.

He was preceded in death by his father: Jesse Vernon Storms, his grandfather and grandmother: Lon E. Frazier and Fannie Anderson Frazier, and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Roosevelt and Betty Turner Thomas.

Donnie Ray is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years: Lulla Belle Thomas Storms of Corbin. His three children: Michael Wayne Storms and Mark David Storms of Corbin, and Melissa Storms Oaks and husband, Chet of Lufkin, Texas.
His mother: Ruby Lee Frazier Storms of Corbin.
His grandchildren: Whitney Sowders and husband, Andrew of Corbin, Brett Storms of London, Kaitlyn Storms of Corbin, Jared Storms of Corbin, Amber Storms of Corbin, Cameron Storms of Corbin, and Elisabeth Torgersen of Norway.
His great grandchildren: Braylei Gambrel, Cobe Gambrel, Madelyn Smith and Paxton Rush.
His nine brothers and sisters: Wayne Storms and wife, Nancy of Corbin, Gary Storms and wife, Nikki of Corbin, Connie Bates and husband, Jim of London, Janice Ooten and husband, Eddie of Corbin, Tammy Rush and husband, Wayne of London, Patricia Boggs and husband, Bill of Corbin, Sandra Tuggle and husband, Marvin of Texas, Louella Carmack and husband, Jim of Texas, and Barbara Vermillion and husband, Dennis of Sevierville, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews, and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Donnie Ray Storms will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 29, 2018 in th Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Logan and Rev. Ricky Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery at Bailey Switch in Knox County.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Justin Storms, Ray Storms, Johnny Frazier, Andrew Sowders, Chet Oaks, Jason Bates and Adam Ooten.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Donnie's Co-workers at General Shale Brick Company, Jimmy Thomas and Todd Sams.

The Storms family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 5:00 P.M. Sunday, and on Monday after 10:00 A.M. and until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
