Donrick Novel Blevins age 36, of London, Kentucky, died on Friday, December 23, 2016 in the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was the son of Novella Bond Blevins, and the late Ricky Blevins, born to them on September 13, 1980 in Corbin, Kentucky.
Donrick was a former CFO/CO-Owner at Real Recovery in Richmond, Kentucky, and Co-Founder at Ethan Health, LLC., a Knox Central High School Graduate, a Bluegrass Community College Graduate having received a Associate's Degree, and a Member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
Donrick enlisted in the KYARNG in 1998. He served 3 Overseas deployments.
In 2001, Donrick deployed to Germany with 1-149, L IN BN in support of the war on terror. In 2004-2006, Donrick deployed with the 206th EN to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
Then once again Donrick deployed in 2006-2008 with the 1-149th INBM to Baghdad, Iraq in Support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
Then in 2008-2009, he was at Camp Shelby, Mississippi with the 1st Army during OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM Training Medics.
Donrick served his entire military career as a Combat Medic.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and grandmother: J.D. and Nannie "Big Mommy" Abner Blevins; his father: Ricky Blevins on May 22, 2011; his uncles: Ray Blevins, Frank Merida and Johnny Root; and by his two cousins: Lynn Merida and Charles Wayne Blevins.
Donrick is survived by his loving family: His mother and step-dad: Novella Blevins Epperson and husband, Jerry of Barbourville.
His two sisters: Jessica Penn and husband, Jason of Georgetown, Kentucky; and Bedia Collins of Lexington, Kentucky.
His three nieces: Mollie Kayte Penn, Sophia Jade Penn, and Amelia Rose Penn of Georgetown, Kentucky.
His two nephews: Chase Collins and Cody Smith of Lexington, Kentucky.
His maternal grandfather and grandmother: Novel and Clara Bond of Barbourville.
His uncles and aunts: Wendell Bond and wife, Dorene of Walker; Faye Hammons and husband, Don of Heidrick; Claudia Sue Merida of Heidrick; Brenda Root of Heidrick; Jennifer Cobb and husband, Robert of Barbourville; Don Blevins and wife, Kay of Bimble; Burchell Blevins and wife, Rita of Artemus; Ersel Wayne Blevins and wife, Ruth of Artemus; Gary Blevins and wife, Kathy of Barbourville; and Sidney Blevins and wife, Loretta of Heidrick; and a host of cousins, and other relatives, and dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Donrick Novel Blevins will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Rose, Rev. Jeffrey Branum, and Rev. William R. "Mann' Cobb officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ricky Blevins Cemetery at Heidrick.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Rodney Hughes, Dillion Blevins, Bryan Mills, Chas Martin, Jason Coldiron, and Bobby Jones.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. Thomas Ashburn, Jason Penn, John Blevins, Dean Merida and Mike Trent.
The Blevins family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Hopper Funeral Home, and on Wednesday after 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
