Dorothy Gambrel, 83, beloved wife of Earl Gambrel, died Friday, May 17 at Knox County Hospital. Dorothy was born to Willie and Annie (Messer) Lester on May 26, 1930. She was a homemaker and attended Union Mission Church. Dorothy loved being with her cats, her grandson and great-grandson.

Along with her husband, Earl, she is survived by a son, Donnie Gambrel and wife Jeanie of San Antonio, TX, daughters, Barbara Collins of Flat Lick, and Helen Garcia and husband Ted of Bryan, TX, a brother, George Lester of Liberty, IN, grandsons, Lonnie Dale Gambrel, John Mark Collins, and great-grandchildren, Damon Collins and T.R. Spencer

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hopper Funeral Home with Rev Larry Sowders and Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jerry Cox, Damon Collins, William Lester, Thomas Lester, Michael Lester and John Mark Collins.
