Dwain Elliott Coffey, and better known as Slim, Doolittle or Coffee Tree, age 62, of Barbourville, died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at his home.
He was a son of Helen Ruby Jones Coffey Oelze and the late William Dwain Coffey, born to them on March 18, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio.
Dwain was a Coal Miner and a retired Truck Driver; and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
On July 20, 1974, he united in marriage to Marilyn Jackson, and to this union three daughters: Stacy Marie, Rebecca Ann and Adrienne Michelle were born.
Dwain was preceded in death by his father: William Dwain Coffey.
He is survived by his loving family: His wife: Marilyn Jackson Coffey of Barbourville.
His three daughters: Stacy Marie Carter, better known as "Puss" and husband Todd; Rebecca Ann Ball, better known as "Floss" and husband, Jason; and Adrienne Michelle Carroll, better known as "Squirt" and husband, Richard, Jr.
His five grandchildren: Ava Leann Carter, Natalie Elizabeth Akins, Noah Isaiah Ball, Chloe Anne Carroll, and Connor Jackson Carroll.
His Mother: Helen Coffey Oelze.
His brother: Jackie Coffey and wife, Cleo of Dalton, Georgia.
His three sisters: Linda Johnson and husband, Carl Wayne of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Sandra Meeks and husband, Gene of Barbourville; and Mary Mills and husband, W. H. of Barbourville; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Dwain Elliott Coffey better known as Slim, Doolittle or Coffey Tree will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Phipps, Rev. Larry Sowders and Rev. Josh Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be the Sons-in-law and Brothers-in-law: Todd Carter, Jason Ball, Richard Carroll, Jr., Steve Abner, Dempsey Miracle, Jr., Charles Sprinkles, Carl Wayne Johnson, Gene Meeks, and W. H. Mills.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the Employees of Patterson Chip.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
The Coffey family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, and on Sunday after 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.
