Mrs. Edna "Bun" Bull Lake of Barbourville, Kentucky passed away at home, on Wednesday afternoon, August 14, 2019, surrounded by her family. Edna was the daughter of the late Daniel Scott Bull and Hester Engle Bull born to them on July 10, 1926 in Knox County, Kentucky.   She was united in marriage with Leonard Lake on December 25, 1946 and to this union six children were born. Mrs. Lake was a homemaker and she was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church of Popular Creek.  She loved cooking, working in her flowers, gardening and traveling with her daughters.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lake was preceded in death by her infant son, Gary Wayne Lake, her husband Leonard, son-in-law, Wayne Goley, great-granddaughter, Bethany Renae Broughton, and sisters:  Viola Hickman, Mildred Summers, Girdie Lee and Myrtle Strong.

Mrs. Lake is survived by her five daughters:  Peggy Gray and husband David of Barbourville, Kentucky;  Sherry Mays and husband Johnny of Hartford, Kentucky;  Betty Gray and husband Donald of Bimble, Kentucky; Teresa Goley of Barbourville, Kentucky; and Terry Powers and husband Danny of Barbouville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Lake is also survived by one very special granddaughter, Jerrita Gray, and her husband Mike of Barbourville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Lake leaves behind seven grandchildren:  Christopher (Chris) Gray and wife Sharon of Barbourville, Kentucky;  Dewayne Mays and wife Jennifer (Jenny) of Hartford, Kentucky; Rebecca (Becky) Mays Smiley and husband Jason of Utica, Kentucky;  Tracy Gray-Mills and husband Bryan of Bimble, Kentucky; Amy Gray of Bimble, Kentucky; Angela Goley-Lee of Barbourville, Kentucky; and Jason Powers and wife Angie of Barbourville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Lake also is survived by ten great-grandchildren: Brian Broughton of Barbourville, Kentucky; Tyler, Simon and Abigale (Abbie) Mays of Hartford, Kentucky; Dakota Gray of Barbourville ,Kentucky; Mercadies Hensley of Gray, Kentucky; Taryn and Jonathan Mills of Bimble, Kentucky; Conner Lee of Barbourville, Kentucky and Jordan Powers of Barbourville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Lake also leaves behind the following great-great grandchildren: Emma and Tobiah Broughton of Gray, Kentucky and Brentlee, Broday, Arabella and Gabriella Hensley of Gray, Kentucky.

Mrs. Lake leaves behind her sister, Lora Bull Mitchell of Taylor, Michigan and brothers Billy Bull and wife Betty of Barbourville, Kentucky and Ralph Bull of Georgetown, Kentucky.

Mrs. Lake's funeral services will be conducted at Hopper Funeral Home on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Bill Gray and the Reverend Jimmy Lee officiating. Pallbearers will be her beloved grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Jawed and Staff, Bluegrass Care Navigators, Paula Watson, Misty Turner and Whitley County Home Health. Visitation for Mrs. Lake will be Friday, August 16, 2019 at 5:00 PM for family and from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM for friends.

Edna "Bun" Bull Lake will be  laid to rest beside Gary and Daddy at Wilson Cemetery at Golden's Creek, Kentucky.
