Barbourville, Ky. - Effie Sue Delph, 81, of Girdler, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert Delph and Georgia Rowland Delph. She is survived by sisters Nancy Hacker, Jane Delph, and Helen Delph - along with one brother Thomas Delph. Sue was a devoted member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church. She leaves behind three nieces: Sheila Callebs and husband Tony, Brenda Rhodes and husband Mike, and Joanie Delph. She leaves behind one nephew David Hacker and wife Vickie. Great-nieces Lori Robinson and husband Curtis, Mikaela Rhodes, Wendi Hacker, and special great-nephew Jonathan Callebs and wife Samantha are also left behind to mourn her passing. Three beloved great-great-nieces: Braylee Callebs, Kallie Jane Robinson, Aubree Callebs, and great-great-nephew, Eli Robinson will miss her dearly as well. Sue is also survived by other loved ones and friends.

Family and friends will meet at Hopper Funeral Home Sunday, January 10, at 12:00 p.m for visitation with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Hampton Cemetery in Girdler. Reverend David Barnard will officiate and musical tributes will be performed by Roger Mills, Ronny Abner, Terry Centers and Ralph David Halcomb. The Delph family has chosen Jonathan Callebs, Tony Callebs, Curtis Robinson, David Hacker, Roger Mills and Garrett Hinkle as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.
