Mr. E.J. Lundy age 76, of Flat Lick, was born on February 12, 1936 in Heidrick, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Nead Lundy and Edith Tuggle Lundy. Mr. Lundy died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in the Pineville Community Hospital. He was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church. E.J. was a former Knox County Sheriff Deputy, having served under Sheriff Ulys Bingham, Sheriff Bally Frazier, Sheriff Novel Bond and Sheriff Wilbur Bingham.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Lundy of Flat Lick; his four children; his brother, Wendell Lundy and wife, Murlene of Bimble and many other dear and loving relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for E.J. Lundy will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Larry Sowders, Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Jay Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery with Jason Valentine, Little Jimmy Hinkle, E.G. Abner, John Hale, Wendell Bond, Keith Bolin II, Deon Pickard and Terry Wayne Doolin serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be, E.J.'s beloved cousins; members of the Heidrick Holiness Church and members of the Dewitt Baptist Church, all Knox County Officials, all Knox County Sheriff's and Staff, present and past; all Barbourville City Police Staff, present and past, all Kentucky State Police, present and past; Pineville Community Hospital Staff; Dr. Talmadge Hays and Staff at the Pineville Total Care and all staff at the T.V. Hays and Associates Medical Clinic at Flat Lick; all of E.J.'s basketball and football team mates and coaches and all of E.J.'s Fox Hunting Buddy's and all friends and neighbors. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Sunday after 11:00 am until the funeral hour at 3:30 p.m. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
