Ethel Mason Carter, 91, of Barbourville, died Sunday, August 28, 2016, in Barbourville ARH. Ethel was born in Bell County , February 28, 1925, to the late John and Clarris (Noe) Mason.
July 24, 1944, she united in marriage to John Carter, and he preceded her in death in November , 2007. Ethel was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Kobe, and two brothers, Edward P, and Rufus Robert Mason.

She was a member of Apple Grove Baptist Church, and loved her cats and dogs like her children.

Surviving are three sisters, Nancy Woods of Pineville, Edna (Joseph)Levin of Griffin, Georgia, and Dorothy Greene of Pineville.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Hopper Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Cooper officiating and burial following in the Burch Alford Cemetery, with Anthony Woods, Ryan Bingham, Todd Graves, Chris Mason, Randy Hembree, and Derek Bingham serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday, 7 to 9 pm, and after 1 pm on Thursday.
