Evelyn Marie Eklund,  age 83, of Barbourville, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Hazard ARH. She was the daughter of the late Curnel and Gertrude (Malone) Anderson born to them on July 2, 1934 in Duluth, Minnesota.

She was a Member of the Trace Branch Methodist Church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Bill Eklund; and by her sisters and brothers: Bernice Walton, Carol, Donald Christianson, Leonard Anderson, and Edward Anderson.

She is survived by her three children: Robert  Eklund and wife, Vickie of Duluth, Minnesota,  Gerald Eklund of Byron, Illinois, and Mindy of Wisconsin; and by her two sisters: Shirley Koponen of Vero Beach, Florida and Geri Cadotte of Duluth, Minnesota; and Niece Linda, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins to mourn her passing.

Memorial services for Evelyn Marie Eklund will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.

The Eklund family will receive friends  after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Hopper Funeral Home, and until the funeral hour.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
