Evelyn Smith age 57, of Barbourville, was born on May 12, 1956 in Bell County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Caleb Smith and Lillie Mae Smith. Evelyn died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a member of the Callihan Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virgie Vaughn and three brothers; Burchel, Virgil and Verlo Smith.

Evelyn is survived by her sisters;
Stella Martin Smith of Bailey Switch; Nettie Gayle Davidson and husband, Lonnie Ray of Barbourville; her brother, T.J. Smith and wife, Sandra Kaye of Burlington, Kentucky and several beloved nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Evelyn Smith will be conducted Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jabe Smith, Rev. Don Farmer and Rev. Roger Liford officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Smith Cemetery at Hammons Fork, with nephews and grand nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: the Long Term Care Staff. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Saturday after 6:00 pm and Sunday after 10:00 am, until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
