Finley Kenneth Valentine age 91,of Gray, Kentucky, was born on October
1, 1926 at Heidrick, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Caleb Henry Valentine and Nora Garrison Valentine. Kenneth died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home. He was was a well known Knox County Building Contractor who never retired. Kenneth was a United States Army Veteran. On September 27, 1947, he united in marriage to Anna Joyce Martin and to this union two daughters and a son were born. In addition to Kenneth's parents, he was preceded in death by a infant daughter, Charlotte Ann Valentine; brothers, Carol Valentine, John G. Valentine and wife, Judy, sister, Thelma Valentine Brown and husband, Tom; sisters-in-law, Wanda Martin Jones and husband, Buddy, Naomi Martin Farris, Glenda Martin Hurst and brother-in-law, Harry B. Sowders.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Anna Joyce Valentine of Gray; his son; Kenney Ray Valentine and wife, Carolyn and daughter; Deborah Jean Hammons and husband, Lyle all of Gray; his grandchildren; Jerry Christopher Mills and wife, Karen Osborne Mills of Gray; Jeffrey Todd Valentine and wife, Whitney Tabor Valentine of Frankfort, Kentucky; and Matthew Dale Mills and Fiance',Donna Grubb of Corbin, Kentucky; his great grandchildren; Jacob Tyler Mills, Kaitlyn Renee Mills, Halle Brooke Mills, Jackson Ryan Mills, Tabor Jacob Valentine, Trevor Joseph Valentine and Taylor Elizabeth Valentine; his brothers; Harold Valentine of Fort Pierce, Florida; Don Valentine and wife, Carole of Florence, Kentucky; Jerry Valentine and wife Donna of Hebron, Kentucky; Jimmy Valentine and wife, Libby of Dahlonega, Georgia, Dennie Valentine and wife, Mary of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Jeree Valentine Serdynkski and husband, Leon of Fort Pierce, Florida and sister-in-law, Jean Martin Sowders of Artemus, Kentucky; brothers-in-law, Ray Farris of Gray, Kentucky; Cecil Hurst of Georgia and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and close friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Finley Kenneth Valentine will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Mr. Mike Corey officiating. Burial will follow at the Doolin Cemetery at Heidrick, with grandsons, great grandsons, cousins and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Monday after 11:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
