Gary Wayne Watson, age 58, was born on November 25, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away at his home in England on September 14, 2014. He was a son of the late Walter and Anna Doris Watson, originally from Caryville, TN and Greenroad, KY. Gary was preceded in death by his father Walter Elmo Watson and twin infant sisters Janet and Jean.
Gary retired from the US Air Force in 1996 having served honorably for 20 years, something of which he was extremely proud. Following his retirement he, his wife Bronwyn and children, Daniel and Rebecca moved to England. He then worked for the University of Cambridge until his retirement, on ill-health grounds, in June 2014.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Bronwyn Dianne Watson, of West Row, England; his dear children Daniel Thomas Watson, of Palm Bay, Florida and Rebecca Gwyneth Fullmer and her husband Thomas Hugh Fullmer, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his loving mother, Anna Doris Watson of Corbin, Kentucky; his brother Roger Joel Watson, wife Monica and their children Allison and Brenda of Hendersonville, Tennessee; his sister Carolyn Watson Randall and her children Amanda, Jenna and Parker, of Lexington, Kentucky as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins spread across the United States.
Visitation for Gary will be held at the Hopper Funeral Home on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6-8p.m. and again on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from noon until 2p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 2p.m. in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bennie Bush officiating. Burial will follow in The Barbourville Cemetery, with family members serving as pallbearers.
