Geneva Brown Davenport Bell, age 81, of Barbourville, died Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pineville, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Ison Lee and Dora Hazel Dye Brown, born to them on July 10, 1936 in Knox County, Kentucky.
Geneva was a Member of the Brumett Church Christ, and she enjoyed Square Dancing and Line Dancing.
On September 21, 2001, she united in marriage to Walter C. Bell, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ison Lee and Dora Hazel Dye Brown; her first husband: Hershel Davenport; her three brothers: John Thomas Brown, Kenny Brown and Doug Brown; and by her two sisters: Luella Brown and Mary Brown.
She is survived by her loving husband: Walter C. Bell, Sr. Her daughter: Carolyn Ritter and husband, George. Her son: James Davenport and wife, Beth. Her five grandchildren: Ariane, Ashley, Josh, J.D., and Blaine. He two step-grandchildren: Raymond and Evan. Her four sisters: Wanda Carter and husband, A.Y., Shirley Melcfresh and husband, Scotty; Pansy Heflev, and Linda Robins and husband, Roger. Her three brothers: Arnold Brown and wife, Barbara; Alvin Brown, and Ted Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives, and dear friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Geneva Brown Davenport Bell will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Frank Vanzant officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Those serving as Pallbearers will Family and Friends.
The Bell family will receive friends after 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Hopper Funeral Home, and until the funeral hour of 3:00 P.M.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
