George Carnes III, 52, of Walker was born on December 11, 1964 in Pineville, Kentucky. He was the son of the late George Carnes Jr. and Lena Shelton Carnes. George died at his home, Wednesday, September 13, 2017. He was a member of the Walker Baptist Church and was a Truck Driver. George served in the United States Army.

George is survived by his sisters; Alene Foley of Barbourville,Sandra Howard and husband, Dr. Rondald Howard of Pineville; his niece,Beth Howard and nephews, Andrew Howard, Michael Foley and Jason Foley and many other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral Services for George Carnes III, will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, Septermber 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Dr. Rondald Howard and Rev. Lonnie Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in the George Carnes Cemetery at Walker with, W.B. Hubbard, McArthur Carnes, Bill Bailey, Terry Joe Messer, Dustin Warren, Rex Carnes, Phillip Carnes, Darrell Messer, Rodney Elliott and Steven Elliott serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Grandsons of George and Mossie Carnes. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Saturday after 11:30 until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
