Obituary

Harold Edward Campbell, age 94, of the Payne Hill Community of Knox County, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Claiborne Medical Center in Tazewell, Tennessee. He was a son of the late Albert and Amanda McVey Campbell, born to them on January 9, 1922 in Knox County.

Mr. Campbell was a Coal Miner, a well known Knox County Construction Worker for Treadway Brothers, a well known Knox County School Bus Driver, and a member of the Paint Hill Baptist Church.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Estel Anderson Campbell, and to this union four sons and two daughters: Bobby, Terry, William "Denny", James, Pansy and Barbara were born.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 68 years on March 1, 2009: Minnie Estel Anderson Campbell; his two brothers: Earl Campbell and Carl Campbell; and by his sister: Mary Sear.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his loving family: his four sons: Bobby Campbell and wife, Percilla of Corbin; Terry Campbell and wife, Eva of Corbin; Denny Campbell and wife, Barbara of Gray; and James Campbell and wife, Faye of Gray. His two daughters: Pansy Campbell Blair and husband, Orville of Vienna, Ohio, and Barbara Campbell Leger and husband, Bobby of Barbourville.
His thirteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many great great grandchildren.
His brother: Billy Ray Campbell and wife, Bernice of Gray.
His sister: Hazel Campbell Hatfield and husband, Larry of London, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Harold Edward Campbell will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 16, 2016 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery on Walker Park Road.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Gary Campbell, Paul Campbell, Dale Campbell, Jeff Campbell and Dean Ray Blair; and great grandson: Justin Alsip.

The Campbell family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, and on Thursday until the hour of service.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
