Obituary

Herbert Duane Miller, age 61, of Bryants Store, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the Barbourville ARH Hospital in Barbourville.
He was a son of Stanley Miller, and the late Othella Gibson,
born to them on February 12, 1955 in Barbourville.

Herbert Duane was a School Bus Driver for the Knox County System; and worked for Knox Auto Parts; and was a Night Watchman.
A Member of the Old Poplar Creek Baptist Church; a Member and Past Chief of the Little Poplar Creek Fire Department; a avid Knox County Fox Hunter; and a Member of over 31 years of the Mountain Masonic Lodge #187 F. & A. M. of Barbourville.

He was a well known Knox County Musician and Singer, he loved Singing, and playing either his Guitar, or his Dobro Guitar, and he was with the Singing Group the Gospel Wonders for many years.

He was preceded in death by his Mother: Othella Mae Gibson Mayne on December 17, 2014; and by his maternal grandfather and grandmother: Jennings and Allie Logan Gibson; and by his paternal grandfather and grandmother: Willis and Mercy West Miller.

Herbert Duane is survived by his loving family: his father and step-mother: Stanley Miller and wife, Doris of Hubbs Creek.
His special Niece: Katrina Eaton and husband, Michael of Bryants Store.
His two brothers: Pat Miller and wife, Rosemary of Corbin; and Charlie Miller and wife, Sue of Bailey Switch.
His two sisters: Beverly Sue Golden of Leavenworth, Kansas and her husband, Virgil; and Lynn McQueen and husband, Frank of Bryants Store
His six step-sisters and four step-brothers. His nieces and nephews: Charlie Golden of Bryants Store; Ginger Smith and husband, Brandon of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; Celina Evans and Jarrod of Leavenworth, Kansas; Stewart P. Miller of Corbin; and Natasha Smith and husband, Eric of Barbourville. His four great nieces and great nephews: Prestyn Eaton, Chloe Eaton, Isaac Smith, and Allie Evans; and many Uncles and Aunts, and other relatives, and dear friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Herbert Duane Miller will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2016 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen Smith and Rev. Terry Broughton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Nancy Bain Cemetery at Hubbs Creek in Knox County.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Thomas Fuson, Kenny Collins, Brandon Miller, Stewart P. Miller, Michael Eaton, Eric Smith and Brandon Smith.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Clarence Chappell, John Rex Hampton, Billy Jay Shelton, Herman McCreary, Rubin York and Terry McCreary.

The Miller family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 after 6:00 P.M., and on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M., and on Thursday after 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

There will be a Masonic Service on Wednesday at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
