Ima Miller Mays, age 89, of Little Brush Creek, died Monday,
June 29, 2015 at the Knox County Hospital. Ima was born in
Knox County, Kentucky on October 7, 1925, to the late Willis
and Mercy West Miller. She was a member of the Little Poplar
Creek Baptist Church. Ima united in marriage to William Mays.
On January 4, 1971, her husband, William preceded her in death.
Ima was also preceded in death by; a sister, Elsie Rhodes; six
brothers; Cam Miller, Laymon Miller, Matthew (Jack) Miller, Bradley
Miller, Charlie Miller and William Thomas Miller; sisters-in-laws,
June Miller, Francine Miller, brothers-in-law, Dalton Rhodes, Cecil M. Adkins and nieces, Debbie and Donna and nephews, John Tye,
Denny and Kendall.
Ima is survived by two sisters; Margaret Adkins of Wakeman, Ohio and
Mary Fortney and husband, Dan of West Carollton, Ohio; brothers;
Stanley Miller and wife, Doris of Bryant Store, Kentucky; Jerry Miller and wife Bonnie of Corbin; Larry Miller and wife, Joyce of
Artemus, Kentucky; sisters-in-laws; Katherine Miller of Barbourville;
Amanda Miller of Artemus; nieces; Lisa, Nancy, Sue and Lynn; nephews; Bruce, Lowell, Kent, Brian, Herb, Pat, Charlie, Phillip, Tony, Rodney and
Cameron; special roommate, Nana at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center and her dear neighbors at Little Brush Creek and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Ima Miller Mays will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, July 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with Rev.
Rick Partin officiating. Burial will follow at the Davis-Miller Cemetery on Little Brush Creek with, Charlie Miller, Denny Ray Miller,
Kent Miller, Michael Miller, Patrick Miller and Rodney Miller serving as pallbearers. Friends will received at the Hopper Funeral Home
Friday after 11:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
