James Curtiss "Curt" Bargo, age 75, of Artemus, Kentucky, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at his residence in Crane, Texas.
He was a son of the late Leonard and Sally Smith Bargo, born to them on May 12, 1937 at Smith in Harlan County, Kentucky.
Curt was a Technical Foreman for Irby Constuction of Richland, Mississippi, having worked for them for over 30 years; he also worked with his father at Bargo Lumber Company and Bargo Motor Company for many years; a member of the Springfield Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the Kentucky Army National Guard.
Curt united in marriage to Leah Jane Lawson on April 19, 1957.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Craig Curtiss Bargo on August 23, 2007; and by his three brothers-in-law: Franklin Garland, Leeman Phipps and Delphus Ore.
Curt is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years: Leah Jane Lawson Bargo of Artemus.
His children: Quetha Bargo Boles and husband, Jerry of Barbourville; his daughter-in-law, Glenda Gray Bargo of Bimble; Gregg Bargo and wife, Malaine of Casa Grande, Arizona; Esteva Bargo of Keller, Texas; and Eddie Lay of Artemus, Kentucky.
His grandchildren: Leah Beth Boles Phipps and husband, Jeff, Brianna, Nicholas, and Jeree Boles, Kacee Jo and Chandler Bargo, Elijah, and his wife, Flo, Grayson and Rebecca Bargo.
His great grandchildren: Tanner, Trey and Holly AnnTyler Phipps.
His sisters: Erma Bingham and husband, Don I., Irene Garland, Kathleen Smith and husband, Boone, Carolyn Smith and husband, Otis, and Sandy Ledington and husband, Gary.
His brothers: Ted Bargo and wife, Barbara, and Dennis Bargo and wife, Jackie; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for James Curtiss "Curt" Bargo will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Owens, Rev. David Barnard and Rev. Mike Helton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Neil Yonts, Leonard "Buddy" Noel, Harry Mays, Allen "Baney" Hampton, Keith Allen Ramsey and Gerald Keith West.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: the Employees of Irby Construction.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
The Bargo family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2013 after 6:00 P.M. at the Hopper Funeral Home, and after 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M.
