James "Jimmy" Paul Daigrepont was born on March 4, 1924 in New Orleans, LA and passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve, LA at the age of 89.
Beloved husband of Mary Culotta Daigrepont of Prairieville, LA for 64 years. Loving father of Darlene Lacoste (Nick), of Hammond, LA, Donna Arena, of Corbin, KY, and Darcy Theobold (Larry), of Prairieville, LA. Son of the late Ulysses and Eva Deselles Daigrepoint. Brother of Eddie Daigrepont and the late Raymond Daigrepont, Michael Daigrepont, Cecile "Dede" Liuzza and Claire "Dootsie" Catalano. Brother-in-Law of Ann Daigrepont of McNeil, MS, Sally Villar of Mandeville, LA, Charles Culotta (Evelyn), of Chalmette, LA and Vincent Culotta of Chalmette, LA. Proud grandfather of Nathan Lacoste, Brooke and Jordan Theobold, Travis Arena, and Cori Arena Morgan (Richard). Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
James was a retired Jockey's agent and worked at numerous race track's across the country and owner of Jimmy's Bar in Chalmette, LA. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing cards. James was a member of the New Orleans Athletic Club and Pete Fountain's Half Fast Walking Club. He proudly served his country in the United States Merchant Marines. Jimmy will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:30 PM. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
