Obituary

Jason Mills age 38, of Scalf, was born on July 8, 1978 in
Barbourville, Kentucky. He was a son of Clifford Mills and
Freda Smith Mills. Jason died in the Barbourville
Appalachian Regional Hospital, Monday, August 8, 2016.
He was a member of the New Harvest Baptist Church
and was a heavy equipment operator. Jason was preceded in
death by his paternal grandfather, Chester Mills, his
maternal grandparents, Loyd Cal Smith and Ruby Bargo
Smith; and uncles, Everett Mills, Arvil Smith, Nevil
Smith and Homer Smith.

Jason is survived by his sons; Jason Tytan Everette Mills
and Elijah John Mills and his daughter, Kaylie Jessyca-
Grace Mills all of Scalf; his former wife, Kandace
Danielle Chapman-Mills of Scalf; his father, Clifford Mills
of Scalf; his mother; Freda Mills of Bimble; his sister;
Ruby Meade and husband, Bradley of Gray; brother; Tommy Mills
and wife, Stephanie of Flat Lick; his loving grandmother
Elizabeth Mills of Scalf; his aunts; Ruby Broughton
and husband, Wayne; Lilly Mae Broughton and husband, Terry
all of Flat Lick; Kathy Ann Bruner and husband, David of
Apple Grove, Barbourville; Pam Bright of Barbourville; Vivian
Smith and husband, John of Flat Lick; Verda Hughes of
Lexington; Reba Hensley and husband, David of Bimble; his
uncles; Colonel Smith, Arlie Smith and Rev. Harold Gene Smith
and wife, Irene all of Flat Lick; Rev. Don Smith and wife,
Barbara of Boone Height and L.C. Smith and wife, Doris of
Bimble. Jason also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.

Funeral Services for Jason Mills will be conducted in the
Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at
11:00 am with Rev. Charles Carnes, Rev. Kennon Roark,
Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. A.Y. Mills officiating. Burial
will follow at the Levi Bargo Cemetery at Salt Gum,
with sons, Tytan and Eli, daughter, Kaylie, Travis Bruner,
Kevin Broughton, Lucas Broughton, Bradley Meade,
Colonel Smith, Jacob Mills, Cody Mills and John Wayne Smith
serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at
the Hopper Funeral Home Thursday after 6:00 pm
until 9:00 pm, Friday after 12:00 noon until
9:00 pm and Saturday after 10:00 am until the
funeral hour at 11:00 am. Hopper Funeral Home is
in charge of all arrangements.
