Barbourville, Ky. - Jeffery Dewayne Arthur, 52, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, passed away, October 15, 2023. Jeffery Dewayne Arthur was born on September 5, 1971 in Hamilton Ohio to Lawrence Arthur and Edna Hix Vitale. Jeffrey's mother was from Barbourville and his father, from London, thus, Jeffery's family origins are firmly connected to Southeastern Kentucky. Jeffery also had developed strong ties with his West Virginia family - his work family and his community of friends in Buckhannon. Jeffery Dewayne Arthur was a person, who loved deeply, the people in his life. He was a generous and giving person - giving of his time, of his resources and of his love for others.


Jeffery was of the Baptist Faith. Jeffery was a true outdoorsman - only his work, could keep him from exploring and enjoying the wonder of the great outdoors. Even at night, Jeffery kept his love of being outside prolonged by often hosting bonfires late into the evening. Jeffery loved to hunt, fish, and golf. He collected guns and knives and collectible sports cards. He was a member of the Buckhannon Eagles, #4357, WV, a fraternal service organization. Jeffery loved to BBQue and he was a connoisseur of whiskey. His Ford Truck was his "baby" who he proudly showed off when working on it, or driving it through Buckhannon. Jeffery, was married for nine years to Robyn Ann Zellner Arthur. They united in marriage on August 19th, 2014. Jeffery Dewayne Arthur led a simple life, but a life filled with the richness of true gifts.


Jeffery Dewayne Arthur is survived by his beloved wife, Robyn Ann Zellner Arthur; by four sons: Brian Egner, Lawrence Allen Arthur, Bradley Duane Stroud and Austin Tyler Stroud; by four daughters: Emily Diane Gordon, Kensey Grace Arthur, Hali Marie Stroud, and Emma Leigh Stroud; and by one sister, Jamie DeLynn Jewell. Jeffery leaves behind 6 precious grandchildren to mourn his loss: Maddox Jo Stroud, Jaxon Christopher Duane Stroud, Delila Rose Stroud, Iris Ann Stroud, Aiden Michael Lantz, Ana Juniper-Star Grier. Jeffery was preceded in death by his mother and father: Lawrence Arthur and Edna Hix Vitale, and by two sisters: Janie and Lisa Jett.


The Arthur family will receive friends for visitation at Hopper Funeral Home, on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Floyd officiating. The Arthur family has chosen as Casket Bearers: Austin Stroud, Steven Hobson, Randy Mills, Wayne Powell, Lawrence Arthur and Robert Gordon. Interment will follow the funeral, in the Charlie Smith Cemetery.
