Jeremiah
Fleming
Jun 26, 1978 — Jan 24, 2023
Barbourville, Ky. – Jeremiah Fleming , 44, of Hulen, Kentucky, formerly of Arjay, Kentucky, passed away January 24, 2023. Jeremiah was the son of Jerry Wayne Smith and Swela Jean Sanders born to them on June 26, 1978, in Pineville, Kentucky.
Jeremiah will forever be remembered for his adventurous spirit and love of family and friends. He was a man of few words but was loyal to his core. A caring and giving person, who never looked down on anyone. Jeremiah was a Christian of the Baptist faith. He cherished his mother and wasn't shy about being a mamma's boy. Jeremiah loved spending time with family, Harry Potter marathons, Western's, and teasing his friends and family for laughs. He was a mountain man at heart, spending time outdoors camping, fishing, and 4-wheeling whenever he could. Jeremiah was a collector of old coins, jewelry, trinkets and weaponry. He would say he was a jack of all trades , and a master of all, who enjoyed wood working, building, and cooking. Jeremiah will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him but is finally at peace with his father and brother.
Left behind to mourn Jeremiah's passing is his beloved mother Swela Jean Sanders, sister Lorena May Blankenship (Steven), brothers Michael Lloyd Fleming and David Walters, aunts Reba Bailey, Irene Hoskins, and Brenda Bolinger (Jackie) and honorary sister Shannon Akers. Eighteen nieces and nephews who Jeremiah loved like his own children, also survive him: Latoshia Holland, Harley Gregory, Brianna Kelly, Nicole Brown (Dickie), Bobby Collins, Daniel Blankenship (Kaitlyn), Jonathan Blankenship, Sequoyah Collins, Amanda Fleming, Amber Honeycutt (Cody), Brandi Oaks, Bryant Oaks, Shane Walters, David Woody, Steve "Bubs" Hoskins (Ashley), Brittanie Akers, Holly Akers, and Logan Akers. He also leaves behind an abundance of great nieces and nephews and dear friend Janie Kelly. Jeremiah's father, Jerry Wayne Smith, stepfather Garney Michael Cummins, brother Jonathan William Fleming, sister-in-law Christie Ann Fleming, uncles Jim Bailey and Dillard Hoskins and great-niece Brooklynn Cherice Philpot preceded him in death.
