Mrs. Jessie Rains Davis, age 91, of Davis Bend in Barbourville, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the Barbourville Health & Rehabilitation Center in Barbourville, Kentucky.

Jessie was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

On November 20, 1943, Jessie united in marriage to Homer Davis and to this union nine children were born.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Jay and Sudie Patterson Rains; two brothers: Charlie Rains and John Frank Rains; and two children: Juanita Davis Douglas and Jimmy Davis.

Jessie is survived by her loving children: Homer Dwight Davis of Barbourville; Dennis Jay Davis and Sandy of Corbin; Michael Davis of Wetumpka, Alabama; Melvin Scott Davis and Carla of Jellico, Tennessee; Ruby Jewell Ramey and Frank of Davis Bend; Connie Lynn Wilder and Johnny of Davis Bend; Vicki Dale Payne and Bill of Jellico, Tennessee; one sister Patsy Lawson of Woodbine; one sister in law Eulene Rains of Corbin; and 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Jessie Rains Davis will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Bunch and Ronnie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Davis Bend.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be the Grandsons of Mrs. Davis. Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The Davis family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 12:00 noon on Sunday, and until the funeral hour.
