Obituary

Jip Swafford Tuggle, age 74, of Heidrick, died Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Criss and Ann Mays Swafford, born to them on December 23, 1942 in Berea, Kentucky.

Jip worked for many years with the Knox County Board of Education; and was a life member of the Heidrick Holiness Church, and she loved singing at church.

On March 23, 1963, she united in marriage to Hoss Tuggle, and to this union two daughters: Krista and Randi were born.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers: Rev. Arvis Swafford, Dallas Swafford, and Doug Swafford; her two sisters: Barbara Ann Swafford Dougherty and Sue Swafford Bingham; her two sisters-in-law: Cloeva Swafford and Rita Hammons; her nephew: Mike Woolum; her mother-in-law: Lucy Meadow; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ernest Tuggle Jr. and Verna Tuggle.

Jip is survived by her loving husband of almost 54 years: Hoss Tuggle of Heidrick.
Her two daughters: Krista Tuggle Spinks and husband, Dennis of Danville, Kentucky; and Randi Tuggle Fore and husband, Travis of Corbin.
Her grandchildren: Matthew Tyler Spinks and wife, Samantha, and Chase Alexander Spinks both of Danville, Kentucky; Dalton Fore, Dawson Fore and Donovan Fore all of Corbin.
Her sister: Aline Woolum and husband, Roy of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Her brother: Bill Swafford and wife, Tami of Ormond Beach, Florida.
Her sisters-in-law: Claudette Scalf of Florida; and Rita Swafford of Cannon.
Her brother-in-law: Wilbur Bingham of Barbourville; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services for Jip Tuggle will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Frazier, Rev. Donnie "Duke' Hammons and Rev. Landon Sexton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Doolin Cemetery at Heidrick.

Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Matthew Spinks, Dr. Barry Bingham, Tim Swafford, Sam Swafford, Rodney Swafford, Michael Swafford, Kevin Dougherly, Bradley Swafford, and Kyle Woolum.

Those serving Honorary Pallbearers will be: the Staff at CCU at Baptist Health Corbin; Dr. Sharma; Dr. Whitley; Knox County Home Health; Heidrick Holiness Church Family; and the Heidrick Community Family.

The Tuggle family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Hopper Funeral Home, and after 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, and until the hour of service.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
