John Calvin Jones, age 64, of Barbourville passed away Saturday May 13, 2017 at his residence. He was born on May 25, 1952 in Harlan County, Kentucky to Fred and Nancy Caudill Jones.

He was a retired miner, a veteran of the national guard, a member of Mountain Masonic Lodge #187, and a Shriner.

Along with parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Ernie, Tim and Bill Jones.

John is survived by his one son: John Cody Jones of Manchester. His two daughters: Sandy G. Moore and husband, Bill of Glasgow, KY and Amy Jones Bays of Barbourville. His five brothers: Tony Jones of Washington D.C., Tommy Jones and wife, Sandy of Corbin, Bob Davis of Knoxville, TN, Don Lee Jones of Paintsville, Ky and Jimmy Jones and wife, Marcie of Barbourville. His four sisters: Sharon Hembree and husband, Dennis of Barbourville, Cindy Jones and Anthony Roark of Barbourville, Joy Jones of Salt Lake City, Utah and Jennifer Faulkwell of Manchester. His four grandchildren: Callie Beth Bays, Marisa, Josiah and Kaylee Moore. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for John Calvin Jones will be 11:00 A.M. Friday May 19, 2017 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. With family serving as pallbearers.

The Jones family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Hopper Funeral Home, and after 9:00 A.M. on Friday, and until the hour of service.

There will be a Masonic Service at 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
