Joyce Cheek Otto, age 80, of Barbourville, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at The Heritage in Corbin, Kentucky.
She was a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Downey Cheek, born to them on November 18, 1934 at Crane Nest in Knox County.
Joyce retired from Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company; she was a Lifetime member of the "The Telephone Pioneers of America".
She gave her heart to the Lord on July 15, 1950 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Joyce was a member and attended the Beacon Baptist Church at Bimble.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Robert and Elizabeth Downey Otto; her husband Thomas Ronald Otto on February 7, 2011; and by her niece: Donna Cheek.
She is survived by her two brothers: Don Cheek and wife, Irene of Bailey Switch; and Ray Cheek of Culbertson, Montana.
A special niece, Deaidra Douglas of Corbin; and a special nephew, Randall Cheek of Franklin, Ohio; and a very special great nephew, Cullen Douglas; also a nephew, Clifton Cheek and a niece, Charlene Cheek both of Culbertson, Montana; and many other relatives, and dear friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Joyce Cheek Otto will be 7:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Matthew Martin officiating.
The Otto family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, and until the funeral hour of 7:00 P.M.
A private Burial will be in the Hutchins Cemetery at Bailey Switch at the convenience of the immediate family.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be men from the Beacon Baptist Church Congregation.
