Lavada Wilson age 103 of Goldens Creek, was born on July 8, 1913
in Whitley County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late
Sol S. Mahan and Sallie Brown Mahan. Lavada passed away Thursday
January 5, 2017 in the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation
Center in Williamsburg. She was a member of the Locust Grove
Baptist Church for over 80 years. On March 13, 1937, she united
in marriage to Autis Wilson and to this union a daughter, Connie
was born. Along with her parents, Lavada was preceded in death
by her husband, Autis; her daughter, Connie; a brother,
Floyd Mahan; sisters; Verda Peace, Della Bennett, Edna Lee
and Leona Lake.
Lavada is survived by many dear and beloved nieces, nephews,
cousins and her church family at the Locust Grove Baptist
Church.
Funeral Services for Lavada Wilson will be conducted at the
Locust Grove Baptist Church, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at
11:00 am with Bro. Larry Carte officiating. Burial will follow
in the Wilson Cemetery at Goldens Creek with family members and
friends serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at the
Locust Grove Baptist Church Saturday after 9:00 am until the
funeral hour at 11:00 am. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of
all arrangements.
