Obituary

Lawrence Glenn "Doc" Collins, age 78, of Franklin, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties where he had been a patient for three days. He was born August 15, 1934 in Franklin. He was employed for 30 years at Miami Valley Coated Paper Company and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. "Doc" was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a wonderful example of a Godly man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Preceding him in death were his parents, Samuel and Mossie (Mays) Collins; his wife, Ruby L. Collins in 1999; one son, Terry P. Collins, Sr.; one brother, James "J. S." Collins; and three sisters, Ivory Harville, Verna Smith and Bernice Morris. He is survived by three sons, Michael Collins, George Collins and Jonathan Collins; one daughter Debra (Tim) Altick; his fiancée Nancy Franklin; 8 grandchildren, Terry Collins, Jr., Christopher (Ashley) Collins, Jennifer (David) Barcalow, Matthew (Kerry) Collins, Stephanie Altick, Dustin Altick and Angelina Altick; seven great grandchildren, Colton Collins, Hunter Collins, Brooklyn Collins, Parker Collins, Violet Barcalow, Hayden Barcalow, and Adelyn Altick; two brothers, Douglas (Debbie) Collins and Dempsey Collins; two sisters, Phyllis "Jean (Rusty) Banks and Linda (Phillip) McVey; brother-in-law, Denvil Taylor; three sisters-in-law, Lillie King, Alma Campbell and Sue Deaton; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church, 3023 N. Union Road in Franklin (off Route 122 near I-75) and on Friday August 16, 2013 at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Max Fernandez officiating. Interment will be at Springboro Cemetery, Springboro, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, 5940 Long Meadow Dr., Middletown, Ohio 45005. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
