Lester Warren, age 92, of Gray, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Paul F. Patton Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Kentucky.
He was a son of the late Tip and Ida Smith Warren, born to them on June 10, 1923 at Girdler in Knox County.
Lester was a retired Inspector for General Motors Cadillac Division; a member of the Keck Baptist Church; a member and former Chaplain of the Sunlight Masonic Lodge #600 F. & A. M. of Dearborn, Michigan; a member of the Cumberland Valley Masonic Lodge # 751 F. & A. M. of Gray, Kentucky; and served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
On December 24, 1942, he united in marriage to Ethel Geneva Partin, and to this union three children; Betty Frances, Don, and Janice were born.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Tip and Ida Smith Warren; his wife of over 52 years Ethel Geneva Partin Warren on February 1, 1994; his three brothers: Reed Warren, Arnold Warren, and Crit Warren; and by his two sisters: Ethel Warren Jones and Sallie Jones Warfield.
He is survived by his loving family: his three children: Betty Frances Jordan of Gray, and her friend, Delphus Lay; Don Warren and wife, Judy of Milford, Michigan; and Janice Patmalnieks and husband, Ed of Rotonda West, Florida.
His grandchildren: Alan Jordan, Larry Jordan, Robert Warren and wife, Taty, Mark Warren, Erik Patmalnieks and Karina Patmalnieks.
His great grandchildren: Dylan Jordan, Dana Jordan, Dale Jordan, David Jordan, Chris Jordan, Amber Jordan, and Maryellen Jordan; and 5 great great grandchildren.
His sister-in-law: Ruby Bargo and husband, JR of Gray; and his brother-in-law: Carl Partin of Gray; and several nieces and nephews, and other relatives, and dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Lester Warren will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Siler and Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lynn Camp Cemetery at Gray with Military Honors by the DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: Erik Patmalnieks, Bobby Warfield, Mark Warren, Doug Bargo, Dylan Jordan and Dale Jordan.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be all Friends and Neighbors of the Warren family.
The Warren family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, and after 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday until the funeral hour.
There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In Lieu of Flowers: Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, Kentucky 40205 in loving Memory of Lester Warren.
Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
