Lois Mills Penn age 69, of Barbourville, was born there on April 15, 1943. She was a daughter of the late Fount Mills and Grace A.Burton Mills. Lois died Monday, February 18, 2013 in the Saint Joseph of London Hospital. She was a member of the Beacon Baptist Church and worked in the Insurance Billing Department for the Brick Mountain Company in Barbourville. On April 1, 1965, she united in marriage to Karl Penn and to this union two children were born. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by; a brother, Ed Burton; and brothers-in-law, Carl Rogers and Michael Elam.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Kent and husband, John of Louisville; her son, Brian Penn of Barbourville; her grandchildren; Bryson Penn, Alex Gus Kent, Holly Kent and Andrew Kent; her sisters; Lorene Townsley and husband, Frank; Linda Elam, and Loretta Rogers all of Barbourville; her brothers; Lee Mills and wife, Deborah of Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Lawrence Mills and wife, Tracy of London.

Funeral Services for Lois Mills Penn will be conducted at the Beacon Baptist Church, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dennis Chesnut officiating. Burial will follow in the Nan Riley Cemetery on Hammons Fork in Knox County, with Nephews and Great Nephews, Steve Mills, Tyler Mills, Donnie Corbin, Jeff Townsley, Adam Townsley, Mark Rogers, Jonah Scent, Travis Rogers, Blake Mills and dear friend, Jeff Ketchum serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home, Tuesday, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday after 10:00 am at the Beacon Baptist Church until the funeral hour at 11:00 am. Hopper Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
