Obituary

Lorena Sue Swafford Bingham age 76, of Barbourville, was born on
December 11, 1939 at Heidrick, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the
late Criss and Anna (Mays) Swafford. Mrs. Bingham died Tuesday,
June 21, 2016 at the Baptist Health in Corbin.
She was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church where
she professed in Jesus as an eleven-year old girl.
Mrs. Bingham was the wife of former Knox County Sheriff Wilbur Bingham where she served as secretary and Deputy Sheriff.

On September 24, 1960, she united in marriage with Wilbur Vinton
Bingham and to this union one son, Barry Venton Bingham was born.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister,
Bobbie Ann Swafford and brothers, Rev. Arvis Swafford and Dallas
Swafford and his wife, Cloeva Swafford.

Mrs. Bingham is survived by her husband, Wilbur Bingham and their
son, Barry Vinton and wife, Lisa Farris Bingham, grandchildren;
Anna Katherine and Andrew Barry Bingham. Additional survivors
sisters: Alina (Roy) Woolum of Hopkinsville; Jean "Jip" (Randall)
Tuggle of Heidrick; brothers: Doug (Rita) Swafford of Cannon;
Bill (Tami) Swafford of Florida; and sister-in-law, Claudette
(Arvis)

Mrs. Bingham's special caregivers were, Betty Gibson, Pauline Payne,
Mary Bell Hinkle, Tina Roark, Debra Bays, Tasha Brown, Misty Mills,
and Wanda Stamper.

Funeral Services for Lorena Sue Swafford Bingham will be conducted
in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm
with Dr. William Boyd Bingham III and Rev. Donnie "Duke" Hammons
officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery with
Gary Smith, Kyle Campbell, Kyle Woolum, William R. Stewart, Tim
Swafford, Gerald Bingham, Darryl Dean Bingham, and Buddy Brewer serving as pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. Bobby Turner, Wayne Farris, Dr.
Glenn D. Mills, Larry Harris, Robert Garland, Jiimmy Hinkle, Wendell
Hinkle, James Elder Smith, Judge Rod Messer, Doug Bingham Donnie
and Doug Lacefield and Dallas Eubanks. The Bingham family have
suggested contributions may be made to the Heidrick Holiness Church
or Dewitt Baptist Church in loving memory of Lorena Sue Swafford
Bingham. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Friday
after 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and Saturday after 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm.
